You're ready to rock a blog...

and make money doing it

3 Reasons That Blogging is For You...

1. It's a chance to genuinely help people 👩‍🎓👩‍🎓

Your very own expertise can help people from here to Timbuktu solve their problems. And that’s a pretty cool thing!

2. It's fun! 🎉🎉

I’m not saying it’s never going to be hard work. But blogging is a great hobby and can honestly be a ton of fun!

3. It can bring in some major $$$ 💸💸

And here’s what you’ve been waiting for…blogging can bring in THOUSANDS in extra income every single month. And that’s worth paying attention to.

Ok, so first off, why are people willing to pay bloggers to blog?

It’s because bloggers are influencers.

Now I know what you’re thinking. The term “influencer” has some negative connotations.

But I’m not talking about people with 500,000 Instagram followers who advertise 6 different products a day. 🙄 I mean you do you, but that’s not what we’re talking about here.

When I say that bloggers are “influencers,” what I mean is that (if they’re doing it right), bloggers are viewed as experts in their topic. 🎓 People listen to them. So when they recommend a product, people buy it. And when they create an online course or an ebook, people buy that too. 🛍

Your expertise is a commodity. And people are buying.

And blogging? Blogging is the best way to get your expertise out there.

Ok, fine. So how do bloggers actually cash in on their expertise?

Well, my friend, there are quite a few ways.

1 – Affiliate marketing.

Here’s how affiliate marketing works. A company will create an affiliate program for their product(s) and bloggers (and other people) will sign up to be “affiliates.” Every affiliate gets a unique tracking link that links to the product you’re promoting. The link puts a tracking cookie on the computer of whoever clicks it. So if a person clicks your link and then purchases the product, you get a commission. Commissions vary widely, but 20-40% is about average.

You can use affiliate links in a huge number of ways, and it can be a great source of income, especially if you have a lot of traffic (although having big traffic is not always necessary).

2 – Ads.

We’ve all been on one million websites with various kinds of ads. No big secret there. And can bloggers make money with ads? Sure.

But, until you have a decent number of page views, the income potential here is very low. The premium ad networks, which pay much more money, require you to have a certain number of page views before they’ll work with you. For some networks it’s 10,000 views. For others it’s 50,000. Or anywhere in between.

3 – Selling digital products.

Selling digital products is, in my opinion (and lots of other people’s opinions), the BEST way to make money on your blog.

A digital product can be pretty much anything that you can deliver over the internet. Online courses (video or text based), email courses, ebooks, workshops, graphic design templates, web design templates, planners, workbooks, printables, spreadsheets…the list goes on.

Remember that expertise that we talked about? Well people want to buy these kinds of products from people with that expertise. And that’s you.

And the best part? It’s passive income. You need to put work in on the front end to actually create the product. But after that, it mostly runs on autopilot and you can just watch the PayPal notifications come in.

4 – Selling services.

This one won’t work for everyone, but if you have the right kind of expertise, it can. You can offer services to your readers. For example, graphic design, web design, or coaching.

Like I said, this won’t work for every topic. But it definitely works for a lot!

For example, I offer a service called a “Blog Audit” to my readers. When someone purchases a Blog Audit from me, I go over their site with a fine-tooth comb and create a document telling them exactly what’s working and what’s not. And for the things that aren’t, I give them a detailed action plan for improvement. It’s a popular service, and I genuinely love doing it. It’s a great source of income for me.

There are lots of ways you could do this, so be creative!

5 – Sponsored content.

Brands are constantly looking for bloggers and influencers to promote their content. They pay for all kinds of content, like a blog post reviewing their product, an Instagram story showing people how to use their product…the list goes on and on.

How do you get this kind of work? Well, it depends on the brand. Some brands only want people with X number of page views or followers. Others are more flexible. And as importantly, or even more importantly, they look at whether your following is ENGAGED.

Would you rather have someone with 50,000 IG followers and an engagement rate of 1.8%, or someone with 10,000 IG followers but an engagement rate of 10.2%? Different brands answer that question differently.

But first things can't just throw a blog up in 20 minutes and expect it to start raining money. 💸💸

Ever been to a website that looked like it was built in 1998? Where you couldn’t find your way around? Where links led nowhere?

Did you buy anything from that website? Or did you run in the other direction?

Bad websites get in the way of good blogs.

You need a solid foundation before you can start making real money from this thing.

And that’s not all.

The more traffic you get and the more people you have on your email list, the more money is going to come in.

You always need to be focusing on growing your list and your page views. The money will come when you do that.

I'm going to show you my Blog to Biz Framework and what you need to do to create a blog that...

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Ut elit tellus, luctus nec ullamcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo.

Does this hot mess scenario sound familiar?

You’re feeling very insecure about your ability to make your blogging ambitions come true: You feel that deep insecurity of not knowing that you are capable of consistency that will lead to financial growth from your blog.

You’re feeling that panic that you don’t know what to say in your blog posts: seeing that annoying blinking cursor almost taunting you because you have no idea what to say in your content that will attract the ideal audience that begs to spend money with you.

You’re paralyzed, not knowing what task to do next: “Should I tweak my web design again? Should I add one more plug-in? I’m not making any money. What should I be doing that makes money for me.”

You’re feeling alone in your blogging journey: Most people don’t “get” you. When you tell them your goals, they look at you oddly and just, “oh, that’s nice.” Jerks.

Hey there, I'm Becca!

I’ve been blogging since the 2010s, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I had this idea to start a travel blog after a fun and impromptu trip to Croatia and Slovenia with my sister. I Googled “how to start a blog,” and it was pretty much all downhill from there.

The reality is that I spent so many hours spinning my wheels on things that took way too much time.

I learned so much the hard way. I Googled everything that popped into my head. And I was hopping in and out of Facebook groups trying to figure everything out.

But eventually, I buckled down, did A LOT of serious research, and developed a strategy that actually worked. Soon, not only was. having WAY more fun, but I was making a profit!

Something else clicked after I started seeing success. I LOVED getting other people results with their blogs, which is exactly why I started “blogging about blogging.”
